Interesting post on Iraqthemodel.blogspot.com

After he called his supporters to "terrorize the enemy" and after saying that he'll sacrifice himself to "free Iraq from the occupation" he changes his attitude and declares conditions for a compromise , and now he's dropping these conditions when he saw that he will end either in jail or in a box but he still can't find the courage to admit that he made the wrong move, and I don't think there's a chance for him to get out with what he did.
We have a saying here that describes well such nutcases, it says "when someone sh**s in his pants, every move he makes will make his mess worse".
And by the way, he's only 23, not 30.

Iraq's Sadr Drops Conditions for Talks with U.S.

NAJAF, Iraq (Reuters) - Iraq's radical Shi'ite cleric Moqtada al-Sadr has dropped his conditions for entering into negotiations with U.S. authorities who have vowed to kill or capture him, his spokesman said Wednesday.

"At the start there were specific conditions for entering into negotiations, which were the withdrawal of military forces from residential areas and the freeing of detainees," Sadr's spokesman Qays al-Khazali told a news conference in Najaf.

"But after the intervention of the religious authorities, Sayyid Moqtada al-Sadr has lifted these conditions and will negotiate without them being met."

He said a delegation from Shi'ite religious authorities would negotiate on his behalf.

Sadr's supporters have been rising up against the U.S.-led occupying forces in south and central Iraq, leading to bloody clashes in which the occupiers lost control of several city centers.

The United States has said it will kill or capture Sadr and destroy his Mehdi Army militia, and has brought extra troops to the outskirts of Najaf.

Tuesday, Sadr appointed an envoy, Abdelkarim al-Anzi, to discuss peace proposals with officials in Baghdad.

Sadr had initially listed two conditions for entering into talks, and later added lifting the siege of Falluja, where U.S. troops are battling Sunni insurgents, as a third.
